Text Box: Congratulations to Mr. Guichard, who celebrated his 30th year of admission to all Louisiana courts on April 20, 2009. At one time or another in his career, Mr. Guichard has represented clients in every corner of the Pelican State.
As sometimes happens with lawyers, Mr. Guichard didn't really enjoy the practice in his early years but just kept plugging at it until he became comfortable with it, understood it from a practical angle and decided to do what he knew instead of taking any case that came through the door.

"I realized that you can't be all things to all people but you can be good to yourself, to what you know best and to your clients." he said.
During the past thirty years, Mr. Guichard spent three years selling automobiles, where he says he learned how to practice law. "I learned when to shut up, which isn't easy, and I learned how to listen to people and find out what they want, which is the same thing as saying that you need to know the facts. Then - and only then - can you figure out if you can help" he said recently.

"Aside from this website, just about all of my practice comes from previous clients or from referrals from them" he said. "These folks are not just a means to earn a living while practicing a profession but also are friends and acquaintances for life." Mr. Guichard says that, in a small practice such as his, his clients pay him what he calls "the ultimate compliment. They give me their money".

Mr. Guichard says that he received "countless" calls from clients immediately after Hurricane Katrina, which did not surprise him. "But what did surprise me was that they wanted to know how I had made it through the storm and not about their cases", he said. "And who wouldn't appreciate that".

Mr. Guichard's practice is limited to personal injury law, domestic law, wills and estates, and - of course - the New Orleans Traffic Ticket and DWI Practice.
